The Lagos State Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, has stated the federal government is shifting from reacting to emergency conditions to a state of getting ready for disaster discount and prevention.
Bamgbose-Martins spoke in the course of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s stakeholders assembly held in Alausa, Ikeja on Wednesday.
He famous that the stakeholders’ assembly was organised for key stakeholders to brainstorm on disaster administration within the state.
Bamgbose-Martins stated, “This assembly is concerning the recognition that as a state, we have to all the time be in a state of preparedness and our preparedness have to be satisfactory. We are getting ready for disasters’ emergencies as a result of they are going to come whether or not we prefer it or not and after they come, they don’t give any discover.
“We are talking about building collapse, fire occurrences, flooding and so on. But that is what we are talking about here even though the world is talking about other things like pandemic, cyber security, climate changes, among others.”
