STEP 1: MATCH THOSH’S MINDSET

“When I was growing up, a lot of elders would say not to take our body for granted. That when we run, we’re also giving thanks that we have legs, that we have a heart, that we have a mind, and that we’re taking advantage of the gifts that were given by Natakam, the creator.

“This can be applied whether you’re running on a treadmill, using weights in a gym, playing conventional sports, doing yoga, bike riding, or swimming. Whatever the movement modality may be, you can think about it in a deeper sense.

“When you’re moving the body, you’re not thinking about ‘Oh, I’m moving this body because I want a nice set of abs, or I want this lifted.’ You’re thinking about ‘I’m giving thanks that I have this body to move, and I’m going to take advantage of these gifts.’ Or ‘I give thanks for what health I do have.’

“And this is good for people that might be experiencing health complications. Oftentimes when they’re focused on their treatment, they’re focused on their deficit. We’re not focused on the deficit, but we’re focused on thriving health. And that’s a way for us to really manifest better health.”
