BRANDON, Fla. — Florida survivors of Hurricane Ian can learn to salvage storm-damaged family treasures from preservation specialists visiting six Disaster Recovery Centers over the following two weeks.

Among the heirlooms that may be saved are photographs, paintings, quilts, essential paperwork and different irreplaceable mementos. Specialists skilled by the Heritage Emergency National Task Force (HENTF) will present recommendation and present survivors the way to deal with, dry, and clear their broken objects on their very own.

FEMA and the Smithsonian Institution co-sponsor the Heritage Emergency National Task Force, a partnership of 62 nationwide service organizations and federal companies. HENTF was created to guard cultural heritage from the damaging results of pure disasters and different emergencies.
